Energy without costing the earth

Sharing the experiences of communities that live on or close to wild land in becoming more resilient in the future.

My name is Fran Loots, Communities Officer for the John Muir Trust. I have worked in communities across Scotland and overseas on a range of issues from housing to recreation.

I have always enjoyed being outdoors and being able to access green space is really important to me. This got me interested in environmental issues and the work of the John Muir Trust, the leading wild land conservation charity in the UK.

We live in challenging times. However, as an optimist by nature, I think that when people in communities work together, powerful things can happen.
